Who's at my door?

With every knock at the door
I skip a heartbeat.
I anticipate if its you
And I'm nervous about our meet.

Everyday, every now and
For every move I make,
I try to shush my mind
Even before your thought wake.

Yet, in the depth of silence
And dark of the night
I fear you lurking outside
Waiting to give a fright.

I know our union is inevitable
And it might go just fine.
But I fear that moment
When you will make me thine.

I wish you be kind and gentle
When you hold my arm.
I'll then take life as the storm
before the final calm.
