A Monkey Moth

Behold! a giant is at rest,

As it should, away from the scorching sun,

Until the darkness spreads across the horizon.

Monkey Moth is its name.

Alert are its antennaes; plumes of a brown bird put to shame.

With wings as much as 8cm,

patiently awaits for the night to come.

No flower nor fruits do they need.

For they have no mouth to feed.

Everthing they devoured as a larva

Is all that there's to fuel their deed -

A persuit to find it's pair and breed.

Few days, then it time to die.

Such short is its life yet, here it is, resting, a wonder to the eye.
