Here goes my blood donation story

I was scared of needles all my life so i avoided all possible hospital visits even if it was for bystanding. One day an ex colleague of mine turned up at work with an emergency request. His relative was in need of A+ blood.  Surprisingly, in an office with ~100 employees that day, i was the only possible match.

I couldnt say no because at such situations it becomes your responsibility.  So i was asked to perepare to go to the hospital. My details like age, health, height, weight, blood group and the like were collected and i was left to prepare myself to face the needle. And then the news came - i was declined. As myself that was a moment of relief not bcz i didnt want to help but because i didn't have to face my fear.

But like any normal person would feel, i was curious to know the reason.

"You ask Why?" My HR chuckled.
"You are underweight; they cant possibly draw out any blood from you."

😕
